PSJA ISD makes appearance in The Paper of South Texas
The latest issue of The Paper of South Texas has an article by David Robledo concerning the rise of violence in the Pharr San Juan Alamo school district, and what the school board is doing about it. Or rather, what they hope they can accomplish with a $93,000 a year price tag. word on the street is that Mark is not even certified.
Mark Villegas isnt coaching to take time coaching his boy, and both of them are certified. Charlie has been an assistant for over 8 years, he was due for his chance, plus he knows more baseball than most other coaches. Both Villegas boys have the support of the parents, except for a couple of parents whose kids arent good enough to play.One parent who causes problems is Esparza, who he wants his son to start at catcher, but cant hit. They dh for him last year (when he played), Then when he does catch hes not that good either. The truth is that they are mad because some talented soph. Ryan Ramirez, Anthony Rivera are actually deserving of a starting position. Ryan Ramirez led the tournament in hitting. Best Players deserve to play. Maybe the school board members who were against Charlie Villegas are mad because they thought there kids were going to play automatically.Mr. Fernando Lopez was the one delaying the hiring of Villegas even though he has no clue what baseball is all about (or any sport for that matter). What about the school board president should worry about is his wife getting a real degree like everyone else. There is no way that lady should be making the kind of money shes getting without being degreed. Maybe some investigation should go into that situation. Go figure the boards presidents wife, rene guzman ( we all know about that man) all tied into the pharr housing authority leader Mr. Roy Navarro who has problems of his own. Can you say F.B.I. Navarro, Lopez must be removed
